I recently got the chance to work on a series of animations for CPRE, The Countryside Charity, for their current campaign, which aims to encourage people to sign a petition calling on the UK government to commit to a plan for rooftop solar panels.
The rooftops of houses and industrial buildings across the UK are a vast and largely untapped area, and would be perfect to host solar panels. This would not only create green, efficient energy, but would also free up large areas of countryside that is currently being used by solar panel farms, creating more habitats for animals and usable farmland.
In the end it was decided that I would create 4 separate animations on different key topics. The client also required each animation to be usable on each of their different social platforms. To achieve this I designed the content to be primarily focused around the centre of the screen, and expanded the scenery above, below and to the sides. This meant that I was able to adapt the resolution of the video to portrait, landscape and square with minimal adjustment.
I was grateful to have been able to work on this project, as it is a subject I am passionate about, and I was pleased to have had a small hand in pushing for greener energy in the UK. Below are links to all 4 animations in landscape format.
